I live in a place where they put stairs into the sidewalks due to the degree of the hills. As we have no weather we certainly do not have flooding, and therefore I have always had a disbelief of floods. I always thought "How can those people not realize there is flooding and get the hell out?" I get it now. We had a really big rain storm that passed through Boston today. Three inches fell in less than an hour and the power went out, and there was massive flooding!
This is a busy highway like nineteenth Avenue!
And we all had to drive through it to get where we were going. I kept hearing the newscasters who get on TV and warn people not to drive through flooding...
I drove through it! Silly Californian!

After the power went out, and the fire dept was called because people got stuck in the elevators in Chestnut Hill Mall, the sun eventually came out!
