Did You Know...

Day Three: Quebec 847 km

Today I drove from Prince Edward Island to Quebec City.  As I was getting ready to leave PEI I learned something new...steam will set off the smoke detector.  Yes as yours truly was in the shower the fire alarm started going off in my room.  I couldn't figure it out at first but then I realized that the really loud sound at 8:00am was coming from my room.  With soap in my hair and threw on some clothes and went to get help after I couldn't make the noise stop.  Please keep in mind the night before, in pjs I went out and made the very nice bellboy come in and kill a giant bug, which I thought was a cockroach but was only a beetle (the front desk lady reminded me that "I was in the COUNTRY!"  Anyway after grabbing a ladder the smoke alarm stopped and I sheepishly checked out.

Site of my new knowledge!

I was sad to leave PEI, but I am sure I will be back.  I bisected the island, going the speed limit of course, and went back across the bridge.  Now remember when I complained about the $12.00 toll on the Chesapeake Bridge, ha!  I scoff at that toll!  The Confederation Bridge costs...$42.00!!!!!!!!!!! to cross just once!!!!  I KNOW!!!

$42.00?!!!

Really?!

Anyway I left PEI and drove through very rural Canada.  I have come to the conclusion that very few people live here.

In fact I didn't see another car for THREE hours!!!

This was at a gas station.

Which is across from this place.  Does anyone know what a Fiddlehead is?!

Before finally reaching the Gulf of Saint Lawrence.

After an 11 hour drive I pulled into Quebec City ready to explore tomorrow and practice my French.
