Pictures from Day 7

Palm Trees...Must be in Florida!

I didn't realize that Ponce de Leon had actually found it.

They certainly do love their own history

Saint Augustine

Ponce de Leon... he came, he saw and died in the swamp

Saint Augustine - the oldest city in the United States founded 1565

I tried to take a picture of the super secret gate

This is the building you see on TV all of the time.  It is five miles away.

This is up close.  I know the picture looks like a picture of a picture but I swear I took this.

The building again.  We drove by it a lot on the three hour tour.

They launched the Mercury and Gemini missions from this launch pad.

They also really love John F. Kennedy here.

More Kennedy love.  Also in the background there is the crawler which moves the shuttles.  It moves 1 mile per hour and uses 50 gallons of gas every mile.

Apollo Command Module - like in Apollo 13!

Top of the Saturn Five Rocket

It keeps going and going and going...and you light it on fire!  I don't think Dad's Fourth of July Blow Torch would have worked for this firework!
Want to touch a moon rock?  So do a million other people!

Inside the Lunar Module.

This is the lunar module.

A Space Shuttle.

This was known as the Rocket Garden.
